From ocean waste to valuable materials: now possible
Ocean waste – heavily contaminated, one of the most challenging materials to recycle.
Transforming ocean plastics into high-performance polymers takes more than conventional recycling systems.
Break Machinery’s DUO makes this transformation possible.
Ocean waste: demanding to process, valuable when treated correctly
Ocean plastic is one of the most demanding materials to recycle. Long exposure to saltwater and UV radiation degrades polymers, lowering resistance and melt stability. At the same time, sand, shells, organic residues, oils and micro-particles further contaminate the surface. Turning this material into consistent, high quality polymers requires more than standard recycling lines.
Using inadequate or poorly designed machines for these materials often leads to low-quality outputs, with limited applications, reinforcing misconceptions about recycled plastics not being reliable for technical applications.
Break Machinery machines engineered to manage even these conditions
After shredding, washing and drying, comes Break Machinery’s DUO constant-pressure self-cleaning screen changer, playing a critical role in determining the quality of the final recycled polymer.
Installed directly after the extruder, DUO, filters melted plastic while keeping flow stable. Two large filters allow heavy impurity loads to be handled without slowing down production, by cleaning material continuously. The whole process of the production is going uninterrupted, making it possible to transform complex ocean plastics into consistent recycled polymers, suitable for further demanding industrial applications.
Efficient machinery is not only a sustainability choice. It is a strategic investment that turns waste into value.
